Job Title: Certification Engineer – FAA/EASA Standards for Cabin HVAC (Aerospace)

Job Summary:

The Junior Certification Engineer supports certification activities for cabin HVAC systems, ensuring compliance with FAA, EASA, and other relevant aerospace regulatory standards. This entry-level role assists in preparing certification documentation, coordinating test plans, and supporting design and test teams to meet regulatory requirements for environmental control systems (ECS). The engineer works under guidance to understand certification processes and contribute to safe, compliant HVAC system development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing certification plans, reports, and documentation to demonstrate compliance with FAA/EASA standards related to cabin HVAC systems.

  • Support the review and interpretation of regulatory requirements, including FAR 25, EASA CS-25, DO-160, and other applicable standards.

  • Collaborate with design, test, and quality teams to gather data and evidence needed for certification submissions.

  • Help coordinate and track testing activities, including functional, environmental, and performance tests relevant to HVAC certification.

  • Maintain certification documentation, ensuring traceability and proper configuration management.

  • Participate in certification review meetings and support audit responses.

  • Assist in identifying gaps in certification compliance and help recommend corrective actions.

  • Support cross-functional teams in understanding and implementing certification requirements.

  • Stay updated on changes to relevant aerospace certification regulations and industry best practices.


Qualifications & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline (required).

Experience:

  • 0–2 years in aerospace certification, quality, or systems engineering; internships or co-op experience preferred.

  • Basic understanding of aerospace regulatory frameworks, particularly FAA and EASA standards related to environmental control systems.

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with cabin HVAC systems and environmental control system components.

  • Knowledge of FAA/EASA certification processes and regulatory documentation.

  • Proficient with MS Office tools; experience with document management systems is a plus.

  • Basic understanding of test procedures and data collection methods.

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Good communication and teamwork abilities.

  • Willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic aerospace certification environment.

  • Ability to follow regulatory guidance and internal procedures accurately.
