You will lead certification activities, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and prepare the necessary documentation for certification submissions. This is an exciting opportunity for engineers with experience in aerospace certification looking to take on more responsibility and contribute to high-impact projects in the aerospace industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead Certification Process:

    • Take a lead role in managing and overseeing the certification process for various aerospace systems, including aircraft, avionics, propulsion systems, and components.
    • Coordinate and prepare all documentation required for certification submissions, including certification plans, compliance reports, test procedures, and analysis results.
    • Ensure that all designs, systems, and components comply with relevant aviation regulations (e.g., FAR, CS, ICAO) and safety standards.
  2. Regulatory Compliance:

    • Manage the review of engineering designs, test reports, and analysis to verify compliance with regulatory standards, including safety, performance, and environmental impact regulations.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact with regulatory authorities such as the FAA and EASA, facilitating communication and ensuring smooth certification approval processes.
    • Track changes in regulatory requirements and ensure the team stays up to date with new aviation regulations and industry standards.
  3. Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    • Collaborate with design engineers, systems engineers, and manufacturing teams to ensure certification requirements are integrated throughout the development and production processes.
    • Work with project managers and senior engineers to define certification milestones, timelines, and deliverables, ensuring that certification activities align with overall project goals.
    • Provide technical guidance to internal teams on certification requirements and assist in resolving any design or testing issues that arise during the certification process.
  4. Documentation and Reporting:

    • Oversee the preparation and submission of certification packages to regulatory bodies, ensuring accuracy and completeness of all documents.
    • Prepare detailed reports and presentations for clients, senior management, and regulatory authorities, clearly communicating the certification status and any potential issues.
    • Maintain organized records of certification activities, ensuring that all data and documentation are up-to-date and compliant with industry standards.
  5. Testing and Validation:

    • Coordinate the development of test plans and procedures to validate systems and components against certification requirements.
    • Supervise or assist in the execution of testing activities, including reviewing test reports and analyzing test results to ensure compliance with certification standards.
    • Provide input to improve the testing process to streamline certification efforts and reduce testing time without compromising quality or compliance.
  6. Mentorship and Leadership:

    • Provide mentorship to junior and mid-level certification engineers, guiding them through the certification process and helping them grow their technical and regulatory knowledge.
    • Lead design and certification reviews to ensure all products meet the required standards before proceeding to testing or production.
    • Promote a culture of continuous improvement in certification practices, encouraging innovation, efficiency, and knowledge sharing across the team.
  7. Continuous Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities to improve the certification process, tools, and methodologies to increase efficiency, reduce timelines, and enhance quality.
    • Recommend and implement new approaches to certification documentation and processes that ensure ongoing compliance and reduce the likelihood of certification delays.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. Educational Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
    • 3-5 years of experience in aerospace certification or a similar regulatory engineering role.
    • Previous experience working with regulatory bodies (e.g., FAA, EASA) is a plus.
  2. Technical Skills:

    • Strong knowledge of aerospace systems, including avionics, structures, propulsion, and flight controls.
    • Experience with regulatory certification processes, including FAR, CS, and ICAO standards.
