Job Title: Certification Engineer
Job Summary:
We are seeking a Fresher Aerospace Certification Engineer to join our certification team. This entry-level position offers an exciting opportunity to start your career in aerospace engineering, specifically focusing on the certification of aircraft and aerospace systems. As a Certification Engineer, you will assist in ensuring that aerospace products comply with all applicable safety, regulatory, and performance standards set by regulatory authorities such as the FAA, EASA, and other aviation authorities. You will work under the guidance of senior engineers, learning the certification process and contributing to various certification projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Assisting with Certification Process:
- Assist senior certification engineers in preparing documentation required for the certification of aerospace products, including aircraft, avionics, and subsystems.
- Help in reviewing and ensuring that design documents, test reports, and compliance statements are in accordance with regulatory requirements.
- Support the preparation and submission of certification packages to regulatory bodies like the FAA, EASA, or other relevant authorities.
Regulatory Compliance:
- Learn and understand the regulatory requirements of aviation authorities, including FAR (Federal Aviation Regulations), CS (Certification Specifications), and other industry standards.
- Assist in verifying that designs meet certification standards related to safety, reliability, and environmental impact.
- Assist in tracking and ensuring compliance throughout the design, testing, and manufacturing phases of aerospace projects.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain and update certification documents, records, and databases to ensure compliance and proper tracking of all certification activities.
- Help prepare reports, test procedures, and validation documents for submission to regulatory bodies.
- Assist in reviewing engineering documents, test results, and data to support certification requirements.
Testing Support:
- Support the testing and evaluation process for certification, including reviewing test plans and procedures to ensure they align with certification requirements.
- Assist in witnessing and documenting tests to verify compliance with safety, performance, and environmental regulations.
- Review test results and help ensure that all necessary documentation is completed for regulatory approval.
Collaboration and Communication:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including design, engineering, and manufacturing, to ensure that all certification requirements are met.
- Communicate effectively with senior engineers and certification managers to understand certification requirements and provide updates on progress.
- Assist in preparing technical presentations and updates for internal and external stakeholders.
Learning and Professional Development:
- Participate in training and mentorship under senior engineers to enhance your understanding of aerospace certification processes, regulations, and industry best practices.
- Stay up-to-date with changes in aviation regulations and certification processes.
- Gain hands-on experience and build knowledge in various aspects of the aerospace certification process.
Key Focus Areas:
Aerodynamics:
- Assist in optimizing aerodynamic systems for aircraft or spacecraft performance using modeling software.
Propulsion Systems:
- Contribute to the development and testing of propulsion systems, focusing on efficiency and reliability.
Structural Engineering:
- Design and test structural components to ensure strength, durability, and safety.
Systems Integration:
- Support integration of mechanical, electrical, and avionics systems to ensure seamless operation.
Stress and Fatigue Analysis:
- Perform analysis on components to ensure they can withstand operational stresses and fatigue.
Quality Assurance & Control:
- Ensure adherence to industry standards through inspections, testing protocols, and quality control procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
Educational Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply; no prior professional certification experience required.
Technical Skills:
- Basic knowledge of aerospace design principles, systems, and components.
- Familiarity with aerospace regulatory requirements, such as FAA regulations (FAR), EASA standards, or similar standards, is a plus but not required.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for documentation and reporting purposes.
Soft Skills:
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and reporting.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, for interacting with team members and preparing certification reports.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment and collaborate effectively with various engineering teams.
Certifications (Optional but Beneficial):
- Knowledge of regulatory certifications like FAR, EASA CS, or other industry certification standards is a plus but not required.
- Any exposure to quality assurance, aerospace testing, or product certification in previous internships or academic projects is a plus.
