Roles & Responsibilities

Job Summary:

The Calibration Workshop Supervisor is responsible for overseeing daily calibration activities, ensuring the accuracy, reliability, and compliance of measurement instruments used in field and plant operations. This role manages calibration technicians, schedules, quality documentation, and workshop operations to support critical processes in accordance with industry and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise calibration, testing, and certification of a wide range of instruments including pressure gauges, flow meters, temperature transmitters, level sensors, and analyzers.

  • Ensure all calibration work complies with internal procedures and external standards such as ISO/IEC 17025 and quality management systems.

  • Plan and manage daily technician assignments and workload based on operational priorities.

  • Maintain detailed calibration records, certificates, and traceability documentation.

  • Oversee equipment maintenance, environmental conditions, and cleanliness of the calibration lab/workshop.

  • Coordinate with operations, QA/QC, and maintenance teams to schedule instrument delivery and return.

  • Conduct quality checks on calibration outputs and ensure instruments are correctly labeled and documented.

  • Support internal audits, compliance inspections, and customer quality requirements.

  • Train and mentor junior calibration staff and enforce workshop safety protocols.

  • Monitor inventory of calibration tools, standards, and consumables; initiate procurement requests as needed.


Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor’s in Instrumentation, Metrology, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field

  • 5–8 years of experience in calibration and instrumentation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of calibration tools (e.g., pressure calibrators, multifunction calibrators, deadweight testers, dry block calibrators)

  • Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, or related quality assurance standards

  • Experience with CMMS or calibration tracking systems is a plus
