The Calibration Workshop Supervisor (Mid-Level) is responsible for managing the day-to-day activities of the calibration laboratory/workshop, ensuring the accuracy and reliability of all measurement instruments used across field operations. This role includes overseeing calibration procedures, managing technical staff, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Supervise calibration, testing, and verification of instruments such as flow meters, pressure gauges, temperature transmitters, analyzers, and level sensors.
Develop and enforce calibration schedules to minimize downtime and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Maintain accurate calibration records and ensure traceability in accordance with ISO/IEC 17025 or company QA/QC protocols.
Coordinate with field teams and departments for timely delivery and return of instruments.
Ensure workshop tools and calibration equipment are maintained and regularly verified against certified standards.
Provide training and technical guidance to junior technicians and apprentices.
Assist in internal and external audits, including preparation of documentation and addressing non-conformities.
Implement health and safety standards in workshop operations.
Evaluate and recommend new calibration tools or technologies to improve efficiency.
Generate performance reports, calibration certificates, and asset condition summaries.
Bachelor’s or Diploma in Instrumentation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field
4–7 years of experience in calibration and instrumentation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead technician role
Proficient with calibration tools (e.g., pressure calibrators, deadweight testers, dry blocks, multimeters)
Knowledge of ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, or other QA/QC frameworks
Experience working with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) or calibration tracking software
Strong knowledge of calibration practices and measurement principles
Ability to interpret calibration standards and technical manuals
Leadership and team supervision capabilities
Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Clear communication, reporting, and technical documentation skills
Familiarity with safety protocols in laboratory or industrial environments
