The Calibration Technician leads the calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of advanced instrumentation and measurement systems. This role involves managing calibration schedules, performing critical system diagnostics, and ensuring compliance with industry standards. The Senior Technician mentors junior team members, collaborates with engineering teams on technical challenges, and plays a key role in audits and inspections.
Lead the calibration, testing, and maintenance of a wide range of complex instruments, such as pressure, temperature, and flow measurement devices, as well as electronic systems.
Develop and implement advanced calibration procedures and protocols to improve accuracy and efficiency.
Diagnose and resolve critical issues in instrumentation systems, coordinating with engineers for system optimizations.
Manage calibration schedules to ensure timely maintenance of all instruments and equipment.
Oversee the preparation and review of calibration certificates, reports, and documentation to ensure regulatory compliance.
Collaborate with quality assurance teams to meet ISO and industry-specific standards during audits and inspections.
Provide technical expertise during system upgrades and installation of new equipment.
Train and mentor junior and mid-level technicians, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Recommend and implement improvements to calibration systems and processes to enhance operational reliability.
Expertise in calibration principles, metrology, and advanced instrumentation systems.
Strong knowledge of advanced calibration tools, such as deadweight testers, multifunction calibrators, and signal simulators.
Proficiency in interpreting complex technical documents, schematics, and calibration standards.
Leadership skills to manage teams and guide calibration projects effectively.
Familiarity with compliance standards ( ISO/IEC 17025, ASQ certifications) and regulatory requirements.
Diploma, associate degree, or bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related technical field.
Certifications in calibration or metrology ( ASQ Certified Calibration Technician, ISO/IEC 17025) are preferred.
7+ years of hands-on experience in calibration and instrumentation, with a proven track record of handling complex systems and leading projects.
Advanced calibration equipment ( RTD calibrators, pressure deadweight testers, HART communicators).
Diagnostic tools ( oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, loop testers).
Calibration management software ( Fluke MET/TEAM, Beamex CMX).
Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities to address complex system challenges.
Excellent communication and leadership skills for mentoring and collaboration.
High attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality standards.
Flexibility to travel to field sites and handle on-site calibration tasks.
