The Calibration Technician independently performs advanced calibration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of a wide range of instruments and equipment. This role involves ensuring the accuracy and reliability of measurement devices, developing calibration procedures, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to meet operational requirements. The Mid-Level Technician provides guidance to junior technicians and ensures adherence to industry standards and safety protocols.
Independently perform calibration, testing, and adjustment of complex instruments, including pressure gauges, temperature sensors, flow meters, and electronic equipment.
Develop and optimize calibration procedures to improve efficiency and accuracy.
Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues in instrumentation systems.
Conduct detailed inspections to verify instrument accuracy and identify potential issues before they arise.
Prepare comprehensive calibration reports, certificates, and documentation for compliance purposes.
Collaborate with engineering and maintenance teams to ensure instruments meet operational specifications and regulatory requirements.
Mentor and guide junior technicians, sharing expertise and best practices.
Maintain and manage calibration records in compliance with ISO or industry-specific standards.
Assist in audits and inspections by providing calibration data and ensuring adherence to quality standards.
Proficient knowledge of calibration principles, measurement systems, and instrumentation devices.
Strong expertise in using advanced calibration tools ( deadweight testers, process calibrators, signal generators).
Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, such as manuals, schematics, and calibration procedures.
Analytical and troubleshooting skills to resolve complex instrumentation issues.
Familiarity with calibration management software and data logging tools.
Diploma or associate degree in Instrumentation, Electronics, or a related technical field.
Additional certifications in calibration or metrology ( ASQ Certified Calibration Technician) are advantageous.
3-5 years of experience in calibration and instrumentation, with a proven track record of handling complex systems and equipment.
Advanced calibration tools ( multifunction process calibrators, HART communicators, RTD calibrators).
Diagnostic instruments ( oscilloscopes, multimeters, loop testers).
Calibration management software ( Beamex, Fluke MET/TEAM).
Strong communication skills for reporting and collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Leadership skills to mentor junior technicians and manage calibration projects.
High attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
Flexibility to travel to field sites for on-site calibration and troubleshooting.
