The Calibration Lab Supervisor is responsible for planning, executing, and supervising all activities related to the calibration of food-grade instrumentation and sensors. The role ensures measurement accuracy, regulatory compliance, team supervision, and continuous improvement of lab processes in line with hygiene and quality standards.
Supervise and perform calibration of temperature, pressure, flow, pH, conductivity, and level sensors used in hygienic food production environments.
Ensure traceability to ISO, NIST, or other national/international standards.
Manage the day-to-day activities of the calibration lab, ensuring efficient use of resources.
Maintain calibration tools and master instruments like dry-block calibrators, multifunction testers, pressure modules, and reference sensors.
Ensure compliance with industry standards such as GMP, ISO 17025, HACCP, FDA 21 CFR Part 11, and internal audit requirements.
Review and maintain calibration records, certificates, schedules, and SOPs.
Supervise calibration technicians, assign tasks, and monitor performance.
Provide on-the-job training and ensure adherence to safety and cleanliness protocols, especially for food-grade instrumentation.
Identify causes of out-of-tolerance readings or failed calibrations.
Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
Drive process improvements and efficiency in lab workflows.
Operate and maintain calibration management software (e.g., Beamex CMX, Fluke MET/TEAM, or CMMS systems).
Generate audit-ready reports and ensure data integrity for regulatory submissions.
In-depth knowledge of hygienic sensor calibration and food-grade compliance standards
Familiarity with metrology, instrument traceability, and risk-based calibration programs
Strong documentation and audit-readiness skills
Team management and task prioritization
Effective communication and collaboration across departments (QA, Production, Engineering)
Diploma/Bachelor’s in Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronics, or related field
5–8 years of experience in calibration and instrumentation; at least 2–3 years in a supervisory role
Experience in food-grade, pharma, or hygienic manufacturing environments
Certification in metrology, ISO 17025, or related quality systems is a plus
