The Junior CIP Systems Supervisor supports the operation, monitoring, and documentation of Clean-in-Place (CIP) systems used for cleaning process equipment in a food or beverage manufacturing facility. Working under the guidance of a senior sanitation or maintenance manager, this role ensures that all automated and manual CIP processes are performed effectively and in compliance with food safety and regulatory standards. This is a hands-on role ideal for individuals with a technical background and a strong interest in sanitation and process control.
Operate and monitor CIP systems used to clean tanks, pipelines, fillers, pasteurizers, and other process equipment.
Perform pre- and post-CIP checks to verify proper cleaning cycle execution and sanitation effectiveness.
Assist in troubleshooting CIP-related issues such as temperature variances, flow disruptions, and chemical concentration errors.
Record and review cleaning logs, CIP reports, and sanitation data to support food safety documentation.
Coordinate with production, quality, and maintenance teams to schedule and execute cleaning routines.
Verify chemical usage and concentrations meet site protocols and regulatory requirements.
Support small maintenance tasks related to CIP skids, valves, pumps, and instrumentation.
Participate in training on food safety, GMPs, and safe chemical handling procedures.
Identify opportunities to improve CIP efficiency and assist with continuous improvement efforts.
Education:
High school diploma or GED required.
Associate degree or technical training in industrial maintenance, food science, or engineering preferred.
Experience:
0–2 years of experience in food, beverage, dairy, or pharmaceutical manufacturing.
Experience with sanitation, cleaning systems, or utility operations is a plus.
Technical Skills:
Basic understanding of piping systems, valves, and pumps.
Familiarity with automated or semi-automated CIP systems is beneficial.
Able to read simple P&IDs or equipment schematics.
Comfortable working with cleaning chemicals and automated control panels.
