We are seeking a motivated Junior CFD Analyst with a focus on HVAC airflow design to support simulation and analysis of airflow, ventilation, and thermal comfort in buildings and enclosed spaces. This role is ideal for candidates with academic or early industry experience in computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and an interest in HVAC systems. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of senior analysts to develop simulation models, interpret results, and support design optimization for airflow performance and energy efficiency.
Assist in creating CFD models for HVAC systems including ductwork, air diffusers, return paths, and equipment.
Conduct simulations for airflow, temperature distribution, and contaminant dispersion using software such as ANSYS Fluent, STAR-CCM+, or OpenFOAM.
Support parametric studies to evaluate different ventilation strategies, diffuser placements, and airflow rates.
Analyze simulation results to assess thermal comfort, air velocity, pressure drops, and ventilation effectiveness.
Prepare visualizations and summaries of airflow patterns and performance metrics.
Contribute to technical reports and presentations for internal teams and clients.
Collaborate with HVAC engineers, architects, and MEP teams to support design refinement based on simulation insights.
Participate in design review meetings and integrate feedback into simulation workflows.
Assist in documenting methodologies and maintaining simulation project files.
Develop a strong understanding of HVAC design principles, ASHRAE guidelines, and building ventilation standards.
Stay updated with best practices in CFD modeling, meshing techniques, and solver settings.
Engage in training programs or mentorship opportunities for technical skill advancement.
