We are seeking a skilled Mid-Level Boiler Welder responsible for executing welding, fabrication, and repair work on industrial boilers and pressure vessels. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with various welding techniques, good understanding of boiler systems, and the ability to read technical drawings and adhere to strict safety and quality standards.
Perform high-quality welding on boiler tubes, shells, headers, and other pressure components.
Conduct maintenance welding, repair welding, and fabrication jobs related to boilers and steam lines.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding procedure specifications (WPS).
Ensure welding joints comply with pressure vessel codes and inspection standards.
Perform non-destructive testing (NDT) preparation and assist during inspection processes.
Supervise junior welders and assist them in skill development and safe practices.
Coordinate with maintenance and operations teams during shutdowns and major overhauls.
Maintain and calibrate welding equipment, tools, and PPE to ensure safe and effective performance.
Document weld logs, work orders, and compliance forms for internal and external audits.
Code Compliance & Quality Control: Ensure all welding meets IBR/ASME standards and passes inspection (including radiographic and ultrasonic tests).
Safety & Risk Management: Rigorously follow welding safety protocols in high-risk environments such as confined spaces and elevated areas.
Precision Welding: Deliver high-integrity welds under varying field conditions with minimal rework or failure rate.
Technical Interpretation: Accurately understand and apply welding symbols, codes, and procedures to maintain engineering integrity.
Repair & Fabrication Efficiency: Effectively plan and execute jobs to minimize boiler downtime and support continuous operations.
ITI / Diploma in Welding or Mechanical Engineering.
3–6 years of experience in pressure vessel or boiler welding.
Valid welding certification for high-pressure applications (e.g., IBR-certified Welder or ASME Section IX).
Proficiency in TIG, ARC, and MIG welding, including overhead and vertical welding.
Experience working with carbon steel, alloy steel, and stainless steel components.
Familiarity with NDT, hydrotesting, and boiler inspection processes.
Ability to work during plant shutdowns, maintenance outages, and emergencies.
