- Assist in the placement of boiler components using cranes, hoists, and lifting equipment, ensuring that all components are securely attached and aligned.
- Help prepare boiler parts and equipment for installation by checking for damage, ensuring parts are ready for installation according to specifications.
-
Rigging and Lifting Support:
- Assist in rigging and lifting heavy components (e.g., boiler drums, pipes, valves) using appropriate rigging techniques and equipment.
- Ensure all lifting equipment (e.g., slings, hooks, cranes, winches) is inspected before use and properly set up for safe operations.
- Assist in positioning components within tight spaces, using cranes, hoists, or other lifting equipment, under the supervision of senior riggers.
-
Maintenance and Repairs:
- Help with routine maintenance tasks, including inspections, cleaning, lubrication, and replacing parts such as seals, valves, and gaskets to keep the boiler operating smoothly.
- Support troubleshooting efforts by identifying issues such as leaks, vibrations, and pressure problems in the boiler system.
- Assist in identifying and resolving minor mechanical failures and providing support for more complex repair tasks under the direction of senior riggers and engineers.
-
Safety Compliance:
- Follow all safety protocols and use personal protective equipment (PPE) during rigging and maintenance tasks to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist in ensuring that rigging operations are carried out according to industry standards and safety regulations (e.g., OSHA, ASME).
- Support in conducting safety audits and hazard assessments to ensure safe lifting and installation processes.
-
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of rigging operations, inspections, and maintenance activities.
- Assist in documenting any deviations from standard operating procedures or any issues encountered during installation and maintenance.
- Help prepare daily reports summarizing rigging work, equipment status, and safety checks performed on the boiler system.
-
Collaboration with Teams:
- Work closely with senior riggers, engineers, and maintenance teams to ensure boiler installations and repairs are completed on time and to specification.
- Participate in team meetings and provide updates on progress, challenges, and safety concerns encountered during installation or maintenance tasks.
- Communicate effectively with other team members to ensure coordinated efforts on complex boiler projects.
-
