Roles & Responsibilities

The Mid-Level Boiler Plant Supervisor is responsible for supervising day-to-day operations, maintenance, and safety of boiler and steam systems supporting water utility processes. This role involves overseeing personnel, ensuring efficient energy usage, maintaining compliance with safety and environmental regulations, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance activities. The role bridges operational execution and system optimization to support continuous, reliable utility services.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise the operation and maintenance of boilers, economizers, deaerators, feedwater systems, and steam distribution lines.

  • Monitor plant performance and adjust operating parameters to maintain efficiency and steam supply to water treatment systems.

  • Schedule and oversee preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of boiler systems and ancillary equipment.

  • Implement and enforce compliance with ASME codes, NBIC, environmental standards, and site-specific safety regulations.

  • Train and mentor junior boiler technicians and plant operators on proper operating procedures and emergency protocols.

  • Coordinate closely with the water treatment team to ensure boiler feedwater meets quality standards to prevent scaling and corrosion.

  • Maintain logs, reports, and documentation required for internal tracking and external audits or inspections.

  • Support energy efficiency initiatives and assist in analyzing fuel usage, combustion tuning, and boiler performance data.

  • Work with procurement and maintenance planning teams to manage spare parts, materials, and contractor resources.

    • Maintain system integrity while ensuring consistent steam delivery to water processing equipment under all load conditions.

  2. Maintenance Coordination & Execution

    • Plan and oversee routine and corrective maintenance to prevent downtime and improve lifecycle performance of boiler equipment.

  3. Compliance and Documentation

    • Ensure operations meet safety and regulatory standards, including ASME and NBIC, and maintain accurate records.

  4. Energy Efficiency & Fuel Management

    • Contribute to optimizing combustion efficiency, fuel-to-steam ratio, and reducing energy losses across the boiler plant.

  5. Team Leadership & Skill Development

    • Supervise, coach, and develop junior staff while fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and technical excellence.


📘 Qualifications:

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related discipline.

  • 4–7 years of experience in boiler operations and utilities plant supervision.

  • Strong working knowledge of high-pressure steam systems, boiler instrumentation, and maintenance best practices.

  • Familiarity with CMMS platforms, standard operating procedures, and industrial safety codes.

  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
