Job Title: Boiler Mechanical Technician

Job Summary

The Mid-Level Boiler Mechanical Technician will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation and maintenance of boiler systems within our facilities. This position requires a skilled technician with a strong background in mechanical systems, troubleshooting, and repair. The ideal candidate will possess a thorough understanding of boiler operations, safety protocols, and maintenance practices. The Mid-Level Boiler Mechanical Technician will work collaboratively with engineering and maintenance teams to optimize system performance and reliability while adhering to industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Conduct Regular Inspections:

    • Perform preventive maintenance on boiler systems to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.

    • Diagnose mechanical issues and perform repairs on various boiler components, including burners, pumps, and valves.

    • Monitor boiler operations and make adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency and safety.

  2. Maintenance and Repairs:

    • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and reporting purposes.

    • Collaborate with engineering teams to implement system upgrades and improvements based on performance data and industry best practices.

    • Assist in the training and mentoring of junior technicians and apprentices in boiler operations and maintenance techniques.

  3. Safety Compliance:

    • Ensure adherence to all safety protocols and environmental regulations during maintenance and repair activities.

    • Respond promptly to emergency calls related to boiler malfunctions and perform necessary repairs to minimize downtime.

    • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to enhance skills and knowledge in boiler operations.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical systems, particularly boilers, and their operation.

  • Proficiency in diagnosing and troubleshooting mechanical issues.

  • Familiarity with safety regulations and standards (e.g., ASME, OSHA).

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Good communication skills for collaborating with engineering teams and mentoring junior technicians.

Educational Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (minimum requirement).

  • A certificate or diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, or a related technical field is preferred.

  • Relevant coursework or experience related to boiler systems or mechanical maintenance is advantageous.

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in mechanical systems, industrial maintenance, or boiler operations.

  • Experience in diagnosing and repairing boiler components is preferred.

Tools and Technologies:

  • Proficiency with hand tools used for boiler installation and maintenance.

  • Familiarity with mechanical testing tools, such as pressure gauges or flow meters.

  • Knowledge of boiler systems and their components, including valves, pumps, and control systems.

Other Requirements:

  • Ability to follow instructions and work well within a team.

  • Strong interest in learning about mechanical systems and a desire to grow in the field of industrial maintenance.

  • Willingness to work in industrial or field environments and adhere to safety regulations.

  • Ability to handle physical tasks, including lifting equipment and tools, and working in various environmental conditions.
