Job Title: Boiler Integrity Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and safety-conscious Junior Boiler Integrity Engineer to support inspections, assessments, and data analysis related to the structural health and performance of industrial boilers and pressure parts. This entry-level position is ideal for engineering graduates or diploma holders who wish to develop a career in asset integrity, condition monitoring, and regulatory compliance. You will assist senior engineers in planning and executing boiler inspections, interpreting test results, and ensuring the safe operation of critical pressure systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspection & Data Collection:

  • Assist in conducting internal and external visual inspections of boilers, drums, headers, and tubes under supervision.

  • Support the collection of thickness measurements, corrosion mapping, and non-destructive testing (NDT) data (e.g., UT, PT, MT).

  • Help document damage mechanisms such as erosion, corrosion, fatigue, or creep.

Technical Support:

  • Participate in walkdowns and inspection rounds during planned shutdowns or outages.

  • Support preparation of technical reports including condition summaries, degradation patterns, and recommended actions.

  • Work with maintenance teams to validate findings and verify post-repair conditions.

Compliance & Documentation:

  • Help ensure adherence to inspection schedules, statutory requirements (IBR, ASME, API 579), and OEM guidelines.

  • Assist in organizing inspection records, NDT reports, and fitness-for-service documentation.

  • Contribute to boiler history tracking and pressure part life assessment databases.

Learning & Development:

  • Learn to interpret inspection drawings, isometrics, and boiler component layouts.

  • Participate in training programs related to damage mechanisms, FFS assessments, and RBI (Risk-Based Inspection) fundamentals.

  • Gain exposure to industry codes, standards, and inspection best practices.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Support inspection and data analysis of boiler components

  • Assist with NDT coordination and reporting

  • Develop basic understanding of failure mechanisms and code requirements

  • Grow technical competency under senior mentorship

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Metallurgy, or Power Plant Engineering

Certifications:

  • Basic awareness of boiler codes (IBR, ASME) and NDT techniques preferred

  • Willingness to pursue API 579/580, ASME, or NDT Level I/II certifications

Experience:

  • 0–2 years of experience in boiler maintenance, mechanical inspection, or integrity assessment (internship/project experience acceptable)

  • Exposure to boiler systems, utility plants, or thermal equipment is a plus

Technical Skills:

  • Basic understanding of mechanical properties, degradation mechanisms, and materials behavior

  • Familiarity with inspection tools (e.g., thickness gauge, borescopes, thermal imaging) is beneficial

  • Ability to read basic mechanical drawings and plant layouts

Soft Skills:

  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness

  • Eagerness to learn industry standards and inspection techniques

  • Good teamwork and communication in field and documentation environments
