The Mid-Level Boiler Fitter / Mechanical Fitter โ Boilers is responsible for the installation, alignment, maintenance, and repair of boiler components and associated mechanical systems. This includes pressure parts, high-pressure piping, valves, mountings, and structural components. The role also supports shutdowns and overhauls, ensuring compliance with ASME/API standards and site safety protocols.
Fit and install boiler pressure parts (tubes, headers, drums), mountings, and piping systems.
Carry out pipe fit-up, flange alignment, and bolting as per ISO drawings and spool sheets.
Install mechanical supports, hangers, and access components for boilers and associated systems.
Perform maintenance on boiler components, including tube replacement, seal renewals, gasket changes, and flange tightening.
Support retubing operations, burner and soot blower fitting, and expansion joint maintenance.
Execute scheduled shutdown maintenance and emergency repairs in high-temperature environments.
Interpret mechanical drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs to plan and execute work.
Conduct precision alignment of mechanical parts using measuring tools such as dial indicators, vernier calipers, and levels.
Prepare surfaces, ensure proper tolerances, and verify fit-up quality before welding or assembly.
Ensure adherence to safety protocols including LOTO, hot work permits, and confined space entry.
Follow compliance standards under ASME Section I/VIII, API, or local boiler regulations.
Report unsafe conditions, participate in safety audits and toolbox talks.
Assist in hydrostatic and pneumatic pressure tests.
Support QA/QC inspectors and NDT technicians during inspection routines.
Identify potential leak points or alignment issues before commissioning.
Work closely with senior fitters, welders, inspectors, and rigging teams.
Provide guidance to junior fitters and apprentices when required.
