The Junior Boiler Fitter / Mechanical Fitter – Boilers assists in the installation, repair, and maintenance of mechanical components of boiler systems, including pressure parts, piping, valves, and auxiliary systems. Under supervision, this role supports shutdown activities, fit-ups, and mechanical integrity tasks with a strong focus on safety, learning, and precision.
Assist in fitting and assembling boiler tubes, nozzles, supports, and structural brackets.
Support pipe fit-up and flange alignment for steam, feedwater, and condensate lines.
Prepare gaskets, fittings, tools, and materials under guidance of senior fitters.
Help in disassembling valves, flanges, or worn components during planned maintenance.
Clean boiler components, surfaces, and mechanical parts as required.
Support retubing, replacement of gaskets, and bolt tightening using basic tools.
Read basic mechanical drawings and follow layout instructions.
Use basic measuring instruments (tape measure, calipers, straight edges) for assistance in fit-up tasks.
Strictly follow safety protocols (PPE, hot work permit, confined space entry).
Participate in daily toolbox talks, risk assessments, and hazard identification.
Maintain a clean and organized work area to support safe working conditions.
Work as part of a team during shutdowns, installations, and overhauls.
Coordinate with welders, riggers, and supervisors for task execution.
