Job Title: Boiler Construction Supervisor

Job Summary:

We are looking for a highly skilled and seasoned Senior Boiler Construction Supervisor to lead all aspects of boiler construction activities on industrial and power plant projects. This role involves managing large field teams and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and safety standards, and coordinating with cross-functional departments to ensure the successful delivery of boiler erection scopes. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in pressure part installation, welding oversight, and construction planning for high-capacity boilers and auxiliary systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Project Leadership & Construction Oversight:

  • Lead the end-to-end execution of boiler construction activities including pressure part erection, structural integration, ducting, and auxiliary system installation.

  • Review and interpret detailed construction drawings, welding specifications, and job packages to ensure alignment with contract and code requirements.

  • Manage boiler erection sequences, ensure fit-up and alignment tolerances, and oversee high-precision rigging and lifting activities.

Team Management & Contractor Coordination:

  • Supervise and mentor construction supervisors, engineers, welders, riggers, and subcontractor teams.

  • Coordinate resources across multiple work fronts, monitor productivity, and reassign manpower based on evolving site needs.

  • Conduct regular interface meetings with civil, mechanical, and commissioning teams to align construction priorities.

Safety & Quality Assurance:

  • Enforce strict compliance with safety standards including confined space entry, LOTO, scaffold safety, and hot work procedures.

  • Liaise with QA/QC and third-party inspectors for NDT activities, hydrotesting, and pre-commissioning checks.

  • Ensure welding operations adhere to approved WPS/PQR and that documentation is maintained for regulatory compliance (e.g., IBR, ASME Section I).

Planning & Progress Monitoring:

  • Collaborate with project planning and procurement teams to ensure critical path activities are resourced and executed on schedule.

  • Track daily, weekly, and cumulative progress against key construction milestones and report deviations with recovery plans.

  • Manage inspection hold points, punch lists, and mechanical completion milestones.

Client & Stakeholder Engagement:

  • Interface with client representatives, EPC contractors, and third-party inspectors to align expectations and resolve issues.

  • Provide detailed technical briefings, status updates, and documentation during site reviews and audits.

  • Contribute to constructability reviews, method statements, and lift plans during the pre-construction phase.

  • Leadership of boiler erection and field construction execution

  • Code compliance, welding control, and inspection management

  • Safety leadership and schedule-driven project execution

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, or Fabrication Engineering

Certifications:

  • Valid First-Class Boiler Attendant Certificate or equivalent (strongly preferred)

  • Certified in scaffolding safety, confined space, rigging/lifting, and LOTO systems

  • Familiarity with IBR, ASME, and local pressure vessel regulations essential

Experience:

  • 10–15+ years of experience in mechanical construction, with 7+ years in boiler erection and pressure part installation

  • Proven track record in supervising utility-scale boiler construction (CFB, HRSG, subcritical, or supercritical)

  • Experience leading large construction crews in heavy industrial, power, or oil & gas environments

Technical Skills:

  • Expertise in interpreting mechanical/fabrication drawings, isometrics, and P&IDs

  • Deep understanding of welding procedures, inspection techniques (RT, UT, PT), and hydrotesting

  • Skilled in using construction progress tools, erection planning software, and QA documentation systems

Leadership & Soft Skills:

  • Strong field leadership, decision-making, and stakeholder communication

  • Ability to manage multiple contractors and work fronts under high-pressure timelines

  • Proactive, safety-focused, and result-oriented mindset
