We are seeking a seasoned Senior Boiler Commissioning Engineer to lead and oversee the complete commissioning and startup activities of complex boiler systems, ensuring operational readiness, safety, and regulatory compliance. The senior engineer will manage multi-disciplinary teams, coordinate with contractors and vendors, and drive technical solutions during commissioning, testing, and handover phases. This role demands extensive experience in boiler commissioning, strong leadership, and in-depth technical expertise.
Lead end-to-end commissioning and startup of boiler systems including pulverized fuel, fluidized bed, and waste heat boilers.
Develop detailed commissioning plans, schedules, and risk assessments aligned with project timelines and client requirements.
Manage, mentor, and coordinate commissioning engineers, technicians, and subcontractors on site.
Interface with project management, clients, regulatory authorities, and third-party inspectors to ensure smooth execution.
Oversee pre-commissioning activities such as flushing, hydro testing, electrical loop checks, and control system validation.
Lead boiler startup sequences including burner ignition, combustion tuning, blowdown, and load ramp-up.
Diagnose complex mechanical, combustion, instrumentation, and control issues; provide technical solutions.
Ensure systems meet performance criteria for efficiency, emissions, and safety before handover.
Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring adherence to site safety policies, codes (ASME, API), and environmental regulations.
Conduct risk assessments, safety audits, and lead toolbox talks tailored to commissioning activities.
Ensure all commissioning documentation complies with regulatory and contractual standards.
Review and approve commissioning reports, test certificates, punch lists, and final handover documentation.
Ensure thorough knowledge transfer and operational training for client’s operations and maintenance teams.
Manage continuous improvement initiatives to enhance commissioning efficiency and reliability.

Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Power Engineering, or related discipline
Boiler Operation License (highly preferred)
Advanced certifications such as ASME Boiler Inspector, API 510/570 desirable
8+ years of extensive experience in boiler commissioning and startup, ideally in power plants, industrial or utility sectors
Proven track record managing large-scale boiler commissioning projects and multi-disciplinary teams
Experience with various boiler types (pulverized fuel, fluidized bed, waste heat recovery) is advantageous
Deep understanding of boiler systems, burner management, combustion tuning, instrumentation, and control systems
Expertise in commissioning methodologies, risk management, and failure analysis
Proficiency in interpreting technical drawings, P&IDs, control logic, and commissioning protocols
Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
Strong decision-making capabilities under pressure
Ability to mentor and develop junior staff
