Job Title: Boiler Commissioning Engineer

Job Summary:

We are seeking a motivated Junior Boiler Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning and startup activities of boiler systems and associated equipment. This role is designed for early-career engineers with basic knowledge of boiler operation and mechanical systems, eager to learn hands-on commissioning procedures, testing, and troubleshooting under senior supervision.

Key Responsibilities:

Commissioning Support:

  • Assist in the preparation and execution of boiler commissioning plans, checklists, and procedures.

  • Support the testing and calibration of boiler systems including burners, feedwater pumps, control valves, and safety devices.

  • Help monitor boiler startup sequences, ensuring compliance with operating instructions and safety protocols.

  • Document commissioning activities, test results, and system performance data.

Troubleshooting & Reporting:

  • Assist in identifying and resolving mechanical or operational issues during commissioning.

  • Report anomalies, delays, or non-conformities to senior engineers promptly.

  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action implementation during startup.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Adhere to all safety standards and site regulations during commissioning work.

  • Ensure proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and safe handling of equipment.

  • Participate in safety meetings, toolbox talks, and emergency drills.

Coordination & Communication:

  • Work closely with operations, maintenance, and project teams to facilitate smooth commissioning activities.

  • Assist in coordinating schedules and resource allocation for commissioning tasks.

  • Maintain clear communication and accurate documentation for handover to operations.

Learning & Development:

  • Gain practical knowledge of boiler systems, instrumentation, and control.

  • Participate in training sessions on commissioning procedures, safety, and plant operation.

  • Develop troubleshooting and problem-solving skills related to boiler startup.

Qualifications and Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Power Plant Technology, or related field

Experience:

  • 0–2 years of experience or internship related to commissioning, mechanical systems, or boiler operations

  • Basic understanding of boiler components and operation

Technical Skills:

  • Familiarity with boiler mechanical systems, instrumentation, and control

  • Ability to read technical manuals, P&IDs, and commissioning documents

  • Basic knowledge of testing and calibration procedures

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • Attention to detail and safety-conscious attitude

  • Willingness to learn and take direction
