The Automation Supervisor – Bottling and Packaging Lines is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day functionality, reliability, and performance of automated equipment on bottling and packaging lines. This includes supervising automation technicians, managing control systems, and ensuring compliance with production, quality, and safety standards.
Supervise the installation, operation, and troubleshooting of automation systems across bottling, capping, labeling, and packaging machinery.
Ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime of automated production lines.
Operate and support PLC (Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA, HMI, and related industrial automation systems.
Perform routine diagnostics and parameter tuning of control panels, VFDs, sensors, and actuators.
Lead technical troubleshooting for automation-related faults and alarms.
Coordinate with maintenance teams to plan and execute preventive and corrective maintenance on automation equipment.
Manage spare parts inventory and equipment documentation.
Monitor OEE, downtime, and reject rates to identify improvement opportunities.
Collaborate with engineering and production teams to optimize line performance and automate manual processes.
Assist in implementing continuous improvement initiatives related to automation.
Maintain up-to-date control logic backups, I/O schematics, wiring diagrams, and SOPs.
Ensure adherence to safety standards (LOTO, machine guarding), GMP, HACCP, and regulatory compliance.
Support audit readiness for technical systems and process documentation.
Supervise and train automation technicians and junior engineers.
Foster a culture of safety, efficiency, and accountability across shifts.
Lead onboarding and hands-on coaching for new team members on automation systems.
Strong experience with PLC programming and troubleshooting
Familiarity with high-speed packaging equipment (Krones, Sidel, Tetra Pak, etc.)
Understanding of SCADA systems, HMI design, industrial sensors, and robotics
Ability to read and interpret electrical/control schematics and technical manuals
Solid leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills
Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Automation, Electrical, Mechatronics, or Instrumentation Engineering
4–7 years of experience in industrial automation, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
Hands-on experience in automated bottling/packaging lines preferred
Working knowledge of GMP, food safety standards, and maintenance practices
