The Automation Engineer leads the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced automation systems for industrial and manufacturing processes. This role involves managing large-scale projects, mentoring junior engineers, troubleshooting complex issues, and driving innovation in automation technologies. The Senior Engineer ensures compliance with industry standards and contributes to strategic decision-making to improve operational efficiency and reliability.
Lead the design and programming of sophisticated automation systems, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and HMIs.
Oversee the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of automation systems, ensuring alignment with project specifications.
Troubleshoot and resolve advanced technical issues, implementing innovative solutions to enhance system performance.
Optimize existing automation processes for improved productivity, safety, and cost-efficiency.
Develop detailed technical documentation, including system designs, wiring diagrams, and operation manuals.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors to define project requirements and deliverables.
Mentor and train junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and fostering skill development.
Stay updated on industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending and implementing innovative solutions.
Ensure all automation activities comply with industry regulations, safety protocols, and quality standards.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, delivering projects on schedule and within scope.
Expert-level knowledge of PLCs ( Siemens, Allen-Bradley), SCADA, DCS, and HMI programming and integration.
Advanced understanding of industrial communication protocols ( Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, OPC UA).
Strong proficiency in reading and developing P&IDs, wiring diagrams, and technical schematics.
Leadership and project management skills to oversee teams and complex projects.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to address critical system challenges.
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
7-10 years of experience in automation engineering, with a proven track record of leading projects and resolving complex technical issues.
Advanced automation tools and software ( Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider EcoStruxure).
Diagnostic and calibration tools ( oscilloscopes, signal generators, multimeters).
Project management tools ( MS Project, Primavera) for scheduling and resource allocation.
Strong communication and leadership skills for mentoring teams and engaging with stakeholders.
Strategic thinking and decision-making abilities for long-term process improvements.
Commitment to maintaining safety, quality, and regulatory compliance in all projects.
Flexibility to travel to client sites for system commissioning and troubleshooting.
