Job Summary: 

The Automation Engineer is responsible for independently designing, implementing, and optimizing automation systems for various industrial applications. This role involves managing small to medium-sized projects, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance. The Mid-Level Engineer ensures compliance with industry standards and drives innovation in automation processes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, and implement automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and HMIs, for industrial applications.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in automation systems to minimize downtime.

  • Optimize existing automation processes for efficiency, reliability, and scalability.

  • Lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of automated machinery and control systems on-site.

  • Prepare and review technical documentation, including system specifications, wiring diagrams, and operation manuals.

  • Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on automation technologies and best practices.

  • Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.

  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry protocols during all phases of system development and implementation.

Skills and Knowledge Required:

  • Proficient in PLC programming ( Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000) and SCADA systems.

  • Advanced knowledge of automation components, including sensors, actuators, and control devices.

  • Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols ( Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).

  • Ability to read and create technical drawings, P&IDs, and system layouts.

  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve technical challenges.

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.

Key Focus Areas:

  • Process Control in Drilling, Refining, and Extraction: Managing and optimizing control systems to improve efficiency and reliability.
  • SCADA Systems for Pipeline Management: Configuring, troubleshooting, and enhancing SCADA systems for efficient pipeline operations.
  • Safety and Emergency Shutdown Systems: Implementing and maintaining advanced safety and shutdown mechanisms to ensure operational security.
  • Environmental and Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring adherence to environmental and industry regulations, with comprehensive reporting and documentatio

Experience:

  • 3-5 years of experience in automation engineering, including hands-on experience with system design, programming, and troubleshooting.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Automation design and programming software ( Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider EcoStruxure).

  • Diagnostic and calibration tools ( multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators).

  • CAD software for system design ( AutoCAD, EPLAN).

  • Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

  • Willingness to travel to project sites for installation and commissioning.
