The Automation Engineer is responsible for independently designing, implementing, and optimizing automation systems for various industrial applications. This role involves managing small to medium-sized projects, troubleshooting complex issues, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance system performance. The Mid-Level Engineer ensures compliance with industry standards and drives innovation in automation processes.
Design, program, and implement automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and HMIs, for industrial applications.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in automation systems to minimize downtime.
Optimize existing automation processes for efficiency, reliability, and scalability.
Lead the installation, testing, and commissioning of automated machinery and control systems on-site.
Prepare and review technical documentation, including system specifications, wiring diagrams, and operation manuals.
Train and mentor junior engineers and technicians on automation technologies and best practices.
Collaborate with clients, vendors, and internal teams to ensure project goals are met on time and within budget.
Ensure compliance with safety regulations, quality standards, and industry protocols during all phases of system development and implementation.
Proficient in PLC programming ( Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000) and SCADA systems.
Advanced knowledge of automation components, including sensors, actuators, and control devices.
Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols ( Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus).
Ability to read and create technical drawings, P&IDs, and system layouts.
Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve technical challenges.
Bachelor’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
3-5 years of experience in automation engineering, including hands-on experience with system design, programming, and troubleshooting.
Automation design and programming software ( Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, Schneider EcoStruxure).
Diagnostic and calibration tools ( multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators).
CAD software for system design ( AutoCAD, EPLAN).
Strong communication and leadership skills for team collaboration and client interaction.
Commitment to maintaining high safety and quality standards.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.
Willingness to travel to project sites for installation and commissioning.
