Automation Engineering oversees the planning, execution, and optimization of automation systems across multiple projects or facilities. This role involves managing teams of engineers, ensuring compliance with industry standards, and aligning automation strategies with organizational objectives. Lead the development and execution of automation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.
Manage and mentor a team of engineers and technicians, fostering a culture of innovation and professional growth.
Oversee the design, programming, and implementation of advanced automation systems, including PLCs, SCADA, and DCS.
Ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations, and quality assurance protocols in all automation activities.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, clients, and vendors to define project requirements and deliverables.
Drive process improvements by implementing cutting-edge technologies and optimizing existing automation systems.
Manage project budgets, timelines, and resources, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
Conduct risk assessments, audits, and evaluations to maintain the safety, reliability, and performance of automation systems.
Prepare and present reports on project progress, system performance, and strategic initiatives to stakeholders and executive leadership.
In-depth knowledge of automation systems, including PLCs, DCS, SCADA, and HMI integration.
Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols ( Modbus, Ethernet/IP, Profibus, OPC UA).
Advanced project management skills, including budgeting, resource planning, and scheduling.
Leadership and team management skills to motivate and guide multidisciplinary teams.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities to align technical solutions with business objectives.
Familiarity with industry standards and compliance requirements ( ISA, IEC, NFPA).
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Automation Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
Certifications in project management ( PMP) or automation ( Certified Automation Professional) are advantageous.
10+ years of experience in automation engineering, including at least 3-5 years in a managerial or leadership role.
Advanced design and programming tools ( Siemens TIA Portal, Rockwell Studio 5000, MATLAB).
Project management software ( MS Project, Primavera) for scheduling and monitoring progress.
Diagnostic tools ( oscilloscopes, network analyzers) for system evaluation.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills for engaging with stakeholders and leading teams.
High attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adapt to dynamic work environments.
