The Mid-Level Analytical and Laboratory Instrumentation Engineer will lead and manage installation, calibration, maintenance, validation, and technical support activities for a range of analytical and laboratory instruments. The role requires deep understanding of regulated lab environments (GMP/GLP), excellent diagnostic skills, and client-handling experience. The engineer will also assist in training junior engineers and ensuring compliance with quality and service standards.
Execute installation, commissioning, and qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ) of laboratory instruments at customer locations.
Perform routine and breakdown maintenance, part replacements, and troubleshooting of instrument hardware/software issues.
Conduct preventive maintenance and calibration as per SOPs and regulatory standards (e.g., GMP, ISO 17025).
Interpret instrument diagnostics, logs, and chromatograms to identify technical faults.
Handle validation documentation, including protocol execution, deviation reporting, and final reporting.
Interface with OEMs and internal teams for advanced issues, spares management, and support escalation.
Train users on instrument operation, maintenance, and software interface (e.g., OpenLab, Empower, LabSolutions).
Maintain accurate service documentation including visit reports, calibration certificates, and audit records.
Instrument Proficiency & Hands-on Expertise
Proven experience with:
HPLC, UPLC
GC, GC-MS
FTIR, UV-Vis, TOC analyzers
pH/Conductivity meters, titrators, lab balances
Knowledge of instrument modules (pump, autosampler, detector, injector, etc.)
GMP/GLP Compliance & Documentation
Strong understanding of 21 CFR Part 11, data integrity, and audit readiness
Execute and document IQ/OQ/PQ, calibration reports, and maintenance logs
Calibration & Troubleshooting Skills
Perform system suitability tests, flow calibration, wavelength accuracy, detector linearity, and pressure testing
Diagnose issues such as baseline noise, drift, leakage, pressure fluctuation, and software errors
Software, Networking & Connectivity
Experience with lab software (e.g., LabSolutions, Empower, OpenLab CDS, Chromeleon)
Understand client/server setups, basic IP configuration, and LIMS integration
Customer Handling & Field Service
Independently manage customer visits, AMC schedules, and technical support tickets
Represent the company professionally in regulated labs (pharma, food, chemical sectors)
Mentoring & Team Collaboration
Guide and support junior engineers and field trainees
Coordinate with service planners, validation specialists, and application teams
Safety & Quality Compliance
Ensure use of PPE, cleanroom protocols, and chemical handling precautions
Follow internal QA/QC guidelines for documentation and traceability
Education:
B.E. / B.Tech in Instrumentation, Electronics, Mechatronics, Biomedical, or Chemical Engineering
OR M.Sc. / B.Sc. in Analytical Chemistry or Instrumentation Science
Experience:
3–6 years in analytical instrument installation, maintenance, and compliance in pharma or lab service industry
Technical Skills:
Strong knowledge of analytical instrumentation principles and lab environments
Familiar with validation, troubleshooting, and customer communication

Willingness to travel across assigned territories
