Engineer, supply, install, seal, test/commission, and hand over aluminum and glass building envelopes and internal glazing—delivering watertight, airtight, safe, and code-compliant systems on programme, aligned with specifications and Sharjah Municipality requirements, while accounting for local weather and traffic/logistics constraints.
Exterior: aluminum windows, balcony/sliding doors, storefronts/shopfronts, small curtain wall/structural glazing zones (if any), handrails/balustrades, louvers, skylights/canopies (limited).
Glazing: tempered, laminated, DGU/IGU (low-E if specified), safety glass to stairs/balconies, obscured/fritted glass where required.
Accessories: frames, thermal breaks, gaskets/EPDM, setting & spacers, anchors/brackets, flashings, sealants, weeps/drainage, insect screens (if specified).
Internal: partitions, doors, shower enclosures (as included in contract).
Testing: water/air infiltration, hose tests, anchor pull-outs; snagging and protection.
Prepare shop drawings, elevations/details, anchorage/fastener designs, movement joints, interface details to masonry/RC and waterproofing.
Submit structural & thermal calculations (design wind loads, glass thickness, deflections), samples/mock-ups, and material data (extrusions, powder coat/anodize systems, gaskets, sealants).
Coordinate with Fire & Life Safety for any rated assemblies, balcony guard loads, and egress requirements.
Secure consultant/authority approvals and maintain a live comments/resubmittal log.
Source approved systems/hardware; verify finish (powder coat/anodize) and color consistency.
Control fabrication tolerances, drainage paths, and pre-formed holes/slots; maintain traceability of glass heat numbers and tempering/lamination certificates.
Pre-assemble frames where feasible; protect edges and surfaces during transport/handling.
Verify substrate plumb/level and opening sizes, sill falls, and DPC/waterproofing continuity before installation.
Coordinate with blockwork/plaster teams on rebates/returns, and with MEP for penetrations near frames.
Set out using laser/datums; confirm anchor zones are sound and clear of rebars/services.
Install frames, fix anchors/brackets to approved torque; maintain perimeter tolerances/clearances.
Glaze with correct setting blocks, packers, gasket seating, and bite/edge cover; avoid glass edge damage and thermal bridges.
Execute primary/secondary sealing (silicones or hybrids) and perimeter sealants with backer rods; ensure weep/drainage is open and unobstructed.
Install accessories (louvers, balustrades, handrails) with verified loads and edge distances.
Perform field tests (e.g., air/water infiltration where specified), hose tests at high-risk joints, and anchor pull-out checks.
Rectify leaks/defects; re-test; record sign-offs.
Protect completed works (films, edge guards, temporary barriers); hand over as-builts, O&M manuals, cleaning guidelines, finish warranties, and glass certificates.
Implement method statements/ITPs; maintain MIR/WIR, torque logs, sealant batch/expiry records, and inspection checklists.
HSE: working at height (MEWP/scaffolds), glass handling with suction/vacuum lifters, lifting plans, dropped-object prevention, hot-work isolation if required.
Keep daily progress logs, deliveries, manpower, and snag/closure registers up to date.
Heat & Humidity
Schedule heavy lifts and sealant works early morning/evening; comply with the MOHRE summer midday break.
Use high-ambient-rated sealants/hardware; respect extended cure/skin times and avoid direct sun on fresh joints.
Protect coated aluminum and glass from thermal shock; ensure adequate shaft/room ventilation for adhesives.
Dust/Sand
Store frames/glass in covered, clean areas; keep gaskets/tracks free of sand; mask adjacent finishes during cutting/caulking.
Clean bonding surfaces immediately before sealing; fit temporary filters on façade/shaft fans if running.
Occasional Rain/Coastal Influence
Prioritize sill flashings, end dams, and drip edges; keep weep holes open.
Use corrosion-resistant fixings where specified; seal all penetrations; verify skylight/canopy slopes and guttering.
Traffic & Logistics
Plan off-peak or night deliveries for long profiles and large panes; provide banksmen and lift plans; obtain SRTA/Police permits if curbside cranes/MEWPs affect roads.
Stage A-frames close to work fronts without overloading slabs; maintain clear egress for public/inspections.
Licensed/approved aluminum & glass contractor with UAE project references.
7–10+ years supply/installation experience on low/mid-rise buildings; strong record with consultant approvals and testing.
Familiar with relevant standards/specs (project-specified wind loads, safety glazing, guard loads; common refs include EN/ASTM).
Supervisors/technicians skilled in glazing, sealant application, anchorage, and safe lifting.
English required; Arabic/Urdu/Hindi an advantage. Valid UAE driving license preferred.
Precise setting-out and tolerance control
Watertight/airtight detailing and defect prevention
Safe glass handling & working at height
Documentation discipline (ITPs, tests, warranties)
Cross-trade coordination (waterproofing, masonry, finishes)
First-time pass on water/air tests and consultant inspections.
Leak/snags closed within SLA; zero recurrent leaks post-handover.
Programme adherence for openings, frames, glazing, and sealing.
Zero major HSE incidents; compliance with midday break & TMPs.
Complete as-builts/O&M/warranties accepted on first submission.
