Job Title: Aerospace Systems Technician
Job Summary:
The Junior Aerospace Systems Technician plays a key role in assisting with the installation, maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting of aerospace systems, including avionics, propulsion, and flight control systems. This role offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a wide range of aerospace technologies and systems, working under the supervision of senior technicians and engineers to ensure that systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
System Maintenance and Support:
- Assist in performing routine maintenance and servicing of aerospace systems such as avionics, propulsion, and flight control systems.
- Conduct inspections and routine checks to ensure aerospace systems are functioning properly and meet operational standards.
- Work with senior technicians to troubleshoot system failures and carry out repairs as necessary.
Testing and Calibration:
- Support testing of avionics and other aerospace systems to ensure proper performance under a variety of operational conditions.
- Assist with calibration activities, ensuring that components and systems meet required performance specifications.
- Help set up and run diagnostic tests on various systems, identifying any issues or performance deviations and providing feedback to senior engineers.
System Installation and Integration:
- Assist in the installation of avionics systems, sensors, communication systems, and other critical components into aircraft or spacecraft platforms.
- Support integration efforts to ensure that new systems are correctly configured and properly interfaced with existing aircraft systems.
- Ensure that components are installed according to specifications and safety standards.
Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
- Provide hands-on support to troubleshoot and resolve issues with avionics, flight control, and other aerospace systems.
- Assist in diagnosing system malfunctions, identifying root causes, and implementing corrective actions.
- Work with senior technicians to ensure that all system repairs and adjustments are done to the highest standards.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, tests, repairs, and maintenance performed on aerospace systems.
- Document all findings, corrective actions, and system performance in compliance with industry standards and regulatory guidelines.
- Assist in preparing reports on system performance, test results, and any issues encountered during maintenance or testing.
Safety and Regulatory Compliance:
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines in all maintenance, testing, and troubleshooting activities.
- Ensure compliance with aviation industry standards and regulations (e.g., FAA, EASA) for system installation, operation, and maintenance.
- Participate in safety audits and ensure that all systems and components meet safety certification requirements.
Learning and Development:
- Continuously learn about aerospace systems, technologies, and regulatory standards through on-the-job experience and formal training programs.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest developments in avionics and aerospace systems to enhance technical skills and knowledge.
- Participate in training sessions and workshops provided by senior engineers or other departments to improve expertise in systems maintenance and troubleshooting.
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams:
- Work with engineers, senior technicians, and other departments (e.g., mechanical, electrical) to ensure successful integration and functionality of aerospace systems.
- Participate in meetings to review system performance, troubleshoot issues, and discuss ongoing projects.
- Communicate effectively with team members to ensure all tasks are completed according to timelines and operational goals.
Skills and Knowledge Required:
- Basic understanding of aerospace systems, including avionics, flight control systems, and propulsion components.
- Familiarity with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting techniques.
- Awareness of standard diagnostic tools and equipment used in avionics and aerospace systems.
- Ability to work with hand tools, testing equipment, and system calibration devices.

Educational Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Coursework or certifications in avionics, flight control systems, or aerospace systems are advantageous.
- Any technical training related to aircraft systems or aerospace technology is a plus.
Key Focus Areas for Junior-Level Aerospace Systems Technician:
Avionics and Flight Control Systems:
Performing routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on avionics and flight control systems under limited supervision.- Assisting in the installation and testing of hardware and software for avionics and flight control components.
Safety and Emergency Systems:

Tools and Technologies:
- Familiarity with basic tools used in aerospace systems maintenance, including hand tools, diagnostic equipment, and calibration devices.
- Exposure to software tools for testing and simulation (e.g., MATLAB, Simulink, LabVIEW) is a plus.
- Basic understanding of control systems, sensors, and electronics used in avionics.
