Accounting Intern 

Job Summary:

The Accounting Intern will support the finance and accounting team in daily operations and tasks, gaining hands-on experience in accounting practices, financial reporting, and bookkeeping. This role provides an excellent learning opportunity for individuals looking to develop their skills in accounting and finance. The intern will assist in various accounting functions, including data entry, reconciling financial statements, assisting in audits, and preparing reports.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Data Entry and Record Keeping:

    • Assist in the accurate and timely entry of financial data into accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP).
    • Help maintain organized and up-to-date accounting records, including invoices, receipts, and financial statements.
    • Support in the preparation and filing of financial documents for audit and tax purposes.
  • Assist with Accounts Payable and Receivable:

    • Support in the processing of accounts payable, including vendor invoices, payment processing, and maintaining payment schedules.
    • Assist in managing accounts receivable, including invoicing clients and tracking overdue payments.
  • Bank Reconciliation:

    • Help reconcile bank statements and company financial records to ensure accuracy.
    • Assist in identifying discrepancies and resolving them in coordination with the accounting team.
  • Assist with Financial Reporting:

    • Support the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Help analyze financial statements for trends, discrepancies, or potential areas of improvement.
  • Audit and Compliance Support:

    • Assist with internal audits by providing required documentation and support.
    • Help ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with Tax Preparation:

    • Support the tax department in preparing tax returns, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to tax laws.
    • Help with the collection of necessary tax documents and financial records.
  • General Office Support:

    • Assist the accounting team with administrative tasks, such as filing, scanning, and organizing financial records.
    • Participate in meetings and training sessions to enhance knowledge of accounting principles and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Education:

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
    • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Skills:

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP).
    • Strong attention to detail and ability to work with financial data accurately.
    • Good organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks.
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
    • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
