Job Title: Senior - 5G Network Engineer

Job Summary

The Senior 5G Network Engineer is a pivotal role within our organization, responsible for leading the design, optimization, and troubleshooting of complex 5G network architectures. This position requires advanced technical knowledge of 5G systems and the ability to provide leadership to junior and mid-level engineers. The successful candidate will ensure that the 5G network operates efficiently and aligns with organizational goals, driving innovation and performance in a rapidly evolving technological landscape.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, deployment, and optimization of 5G networks, ensuring alignment with business and operational requirements.
• Analyze and optimize network performance, including the configuration of network elements and interfaces.
• Oversee capacity planning and ensure the network can scale efficiently to accommodate growth.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex 5G network issues, including latency, throughput, and signal interference.
• Develop and execute test plans for new 5G technologies, ensuring quality assurance before implementation.
• Provide leadership and mentoring to junior and mid-level engineers, ensuring their development and performance.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define network requirements and design solutions that meet business needs.
• Innovate and implement automation processes to optimize network performance and reduce operational overhead.
• Conduct research and integrate new technologies into the 5G network infrastructure to stay ahead of industry trends.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• Expert-level knowledge of 5G NR, RAN, core network, backhaul, and transport systems.
• In-depth understanding of 5G technologies, including virtualization, cloud-native architecture, and edge computing.
• Advanced experience with network performance optimization and troubleshooting in complex network environments.
• Expertise with network monitoring, analysis, and diagnostic tools (e.g., TEMS, NetScout, Cisco Prime, Nokia NetAct).
• Strong skills in capacity planning and network scalability.
• Experience with network automation and orchestration using tools such as Ansible, Python, or similar.
• Leadership and mentoring capabilities to guide a team of engineers and foster innovation.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Certifications such as CCIE (Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert), 5G vendor-specific certifications (e.g., Nokia, Ericsson), or similar are highly valued.

Experience

• 6+ years of experience in 5G or 4G network engineering, with a focus on design, optimization, and troubleshooting.
• Extensive hands-on experience with 5G RAN and core network systems.

Tools and Equipment

• Advanced network monitoring tools (e.g., TEMS, NetScout, Nokia NetAct).
• Network automation tools (e.g., Ansible, Python scripts).
• 5G core network and RAN equipment.

• Strong leadership and communication skills for cross-functional collaboration.
• Ability to manage multiple large-scale projects simultaneously.
