Job Summary

The Junior 5G Network Engineer is an entry-level position focused on supporting the installation, configuration, and maintenance of 5G network infrastructure. This role is designed for individuals seeking to gain foundational experience in 5G technology and network engineering. The Junior Engineer will assist senior engineers in building and optimizing 5G network components, contributing to the advancement of cutting-edge telecommunications technology. Key Responsibilities

• Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of 5G network equipment such as routers, switches, and base stations.
• Support the troubleshooting of 5G network issues, including connectivity problems, latency, and signal degradation.
• Help in performing site surveys and assist with the network design process.
• Assist in the configuration of 5G radio access network (RAN) equipment.
• Support network testing and validation activities to ensure network quality and performance.
• Work with senior engineers to monitor and optimize 5G network performance, identifying areas for improvement.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting reports.
• Adhere to industry safety standards and best practices during installation and maintenance tasks.

Skills and Knowledge Required

• Basic understanding of 5G technologies (including 5G NR, RAN, core network components).
• Familiarity with mobile network components such as base stations, cell towers, routers, and switches.
• Knowledge of networking protocols (IP, TCP/IP, and UDP) and how they apply to 5G.
• Ability to use basic network diagnostic tools (e.g., spectrum analyzers, signal testers).
• Strong analytical skills and problem-solving abilities.
• Willingness to learn and develop technical expertise in 5G network engineering.
• Ability to work effectively within a team environment.
• Basic understanding of 5G network architecture and its components, including edge computing.

Educational Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent, with a preference for candidates with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Network Engineering, or a related field.
• Certification such as CompTIA Network+ or CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) preferred.

Experience
