Job Title: Director/VP - 5G Network Engineer
Job Summary
The Director/VP of 5G Network Engineering is a senior executive role responsible for defining and leading the strategic direction for the deployment, optimization, and scaling of the company’s 5G network. This position involves both technical expertise and leadership to drive innovation and ensure that the organization’s 5G network meets business goals. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of 5G technologies and a proven track record in managing large-scale network projects. This role requires a visionary leader who can effectively engage with stakeholders, drive strategic initiatives, and foster a culture of excellence within the engineering team.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and drive the 5G network strategy, ensuring alignment with the organization’s broader business and operational objectives.
- Oversee the design, implementation, and optimization of the 5G network, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance.
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, ensuring effective collaboration and high performance across multiple projects.
- Manage large-scale network deployments, including vendor selection, resource allocation, and budget management.
- Develop and implement network automation and orchestration strategies to improve operational efficiency.
- Lead research and development initiatives to incorporate emerging 5G technologies, such as 5G standalone (SA), edge computing, and network slicing.
- Represent the company in strategic meetings with key stakeholders, including customers, regulatory bodies, and industry groups.
- Ensure that the 5G network complies with security, regulatory, and operational standards.
Skills and Knowledge Required
- Extensive knowledge of 5G technologies and network design, including RAN, core network, backhaul, and transport layers.
- Strong leadership, project management, and strategic thinking abilities.
- Expertise in network automation, orchestration, and cloud-based architectures.
- In-depth understanding of network performance optimization, security, and capacity planning.
- Ability to engage with C-level executives and customers on network performance, projects, and future opportunities.
- Knowledge of regulatory and compliance standards impacting 5G networks.
Educational Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, Network Engineering, or a related field.
- Executive certifications (e.g., PMP, ITIL) and advanced 5G certifications (e.g., CCIE, Nokia, Ericsson) are highly preferred.
